Terms & Conditions
The rules for using dwu-alumni.org, buying memberships, shop items and tickets, and taking part in the alumni community.
About these terms
In short: Using the site means you accept these terms.
These terms apply to dwu-alumni.org, run by the Divine Word University Alumni Association Inc. (“DWUAA”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, buying anything or using the site you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Eligibility and your account
In short: One account per person, with accurate details and a private password.
- Membership is open to graduates of Divine Word University, Divine Word Institute and Divine Word High School who are 18 or older.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date. We may ask you to confirm that you are a graduate.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One account per person. Do not create an account for someone else or pretend to be another person.
Membership plans and payments
In short: Basic is free; Standard and Premium are yearly plans paid in Kina.

- Benefits for each plan are listed on the Membership Benefits page and may change as the Association grows.
- Prices are in Papua New Guinea Kina (K). Card payments are processed securely by Stripe.
- Paid plans renew automatically on the anniversary of joining. You can cancel the renewal at any time under My Account → Subscriptions; your benefits continue until the end of the paid period.
- If we change a membership price, we will tell you at least 30 days before your next renewal.
Shop, event tickets and donations
In short: Your order confirmation is your receipt and, for events, your ticket.
- Alumni Shop: product photos are illustrations; colours and details may vary slightly. We will confirm collection or delivery arrangements after you order.
- Event tickets: only logged-in members can buy tickets. Your order confirmation is your ticket. Tickets are for the named event only.
- Donations: donations are voluntary gifts to the campaign you choose.
- Refunds and returns are covered by our Refund Policy.
Community standards
In short: Treat fellow alumni with respect. We may remove content that breaks these rules.
When you post, comment, message or upload, do not:
- harass, threaten, bully or discriminate against anyone;
- post false, defamatory, obscene or unlawful material;
- share other people’s personal information without their consent;
- send spam, chain messages or unsolicited advertising (use the Business Directory to promote a business);
- upload viruses or try to break or misuse the site.
Administrators may edit or remove content and restrict accounts that break these standards.
Your content
In short: You own what you post, and let us display it on the site.
You keep ownership of the posts, photos, stories and files you add. You give DWUAA permission to display and share that content on the site and in Association communications (for example, featuring a story in the newsroom). You confirm you have the right to share anything you upload.
My Files storage
In short: Private document storage on the Association’s Google Drive, within your storage limit.
- My Files is a convenience for members to keep documents such as CVs and certificates. Files are stored privately in the Association’s Google Drive.
- Each member has a storage limit shown on the My Files page.
- Do not upload unlawful material or other people’s personal documents without permission.
- Keep your own copies of important files. We may remove files from closed accounts.
Business Directory
In short: Listings are reviewed, but each business is responsible for its own details.
Businesses listed in the Business Directory are owned or run by alumni. Listings are reviewed before publication, but DWUAA does not endorse any business and is not responsible for the products, services or agreements you make with them.
Names, logos and content
In short: The DWUAA name, logo and site content belong to the Association.
The DWUAA name, logo and the site’s design and content belong to the Association or its licensors. The Divine Word University name and marks belong to the University. Please do not use them without written permission.
Third-party services
In short: Some features rely on outside services with their own terms.
Payments are handled by Stripe, documents and backups are stored with Google, and some pages link to or embed YouTube and Facebook. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies.
Suspending or closing accounts
In short: You can leave at any time; we may suspend accounts that break these terms.
You may close your account at any time by emailing info@dwu-alumni.org. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or that is used to harm other members. Paid benefits end when an account is closed for a breach.
Our responsibility to you
In short: We work to keep the site running well, within the limits allowed by law.
We provide the site in good faith and work to keep it accurate and available, but we cannot promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, DWUAA is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be excluded under the laws of Papua New Guinea.
Changes to these terms
In short: Updates are posted here with a new date.
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Significant changes will be announced to members.
Governing law and contact
In short: PNG law applies. Questions go to info@dwu-alumni.org.
These terms are governed by the laws of Papua New Guinea, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of Papua New Guinea. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern: email info@dwu-alumni.org or use our contact form.
